So far, Zyle and I have read through the many and heart-opening well-wishes from all the Facebook and Blog readers (thank you all), and have done a crossword puzzle. Zyle mostly slept through it all, but he appreciated your help.
Zyle has these velcro hockey pad things covering his hands and arms to keep him from pulling out the IVs in his morphine-induced sleep. IVs will stay in until he leaves the hospital, but the drain and the dressing will come off in the next day or two.
This is what life is going to be like for the next 12-18 hours. It is going to be a long long 18 hours. Please keep the well-wishes coming - Zyle loves to hear them!
Sara (my mom) took a note home to Jex from Pam, Zyle, and I. Lalah and Pam did a bit of exercise.
Thanks for all your thoughts and love.
I'm so relieved for you all. Hope all continues to go just as smoothly after he gets to be fully awake. Some of modern medicine is indeed remarkable. And they didn't even have to shave his head? - wow; I guess he'll have a cute little bald stripe running along the incision. Love to all.
ReplyDeleteI bet Zyle is a whiz with the Sunday New York TImes puzzle, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteZyle, I don't think you have any idea how courageous you're being. You're doing a great job. Hang in there. We're sending thoughts of rest and healing.
Hey Zyle,
ReplyDeleteMiles and Ocean are thinking of you! Hang in there kiddo--lots of love from NYC.
So much love from your Aunt Casey, Uncle Mike and cousin Artemis!
ReplyDeleteHello, dear Zyle, There are so-o-o-o many friends sending warm fuzzy wishes to you. We hope you are feeling better soon. Mommy and Daddy will help you get well fast. I hope you can have something yummy to eat soon! Love, Marcia and Tom.
ReplyDeleteHey, Zyle - it was only a few days ago that I saw you and Erin giving each other high-5's in the toddler piazza. She can be a bit of a bruiser, but you seem like you can hold your own with that one! You'll be back for more soon - in the meantime, hang tight, little guy. Hospital life is a strange and surreal place (remember those early days with your mom?), so you'll need to gets lots of rest once you're back in your own cozy bed. We can't wait to see you once you're feeling up to it!
