Lots of exciting updates this morning:
* We got a full size bed this morning. Previously we had a largish crib. Apparently, we just had to ask. It is MUCH easier to cuddle and sleep with Zyle in the full size bed. Just saying. I mean, we were doing it, but now we might actually really sleep!
* Almost all of Zyle's tubes are out. They removed the IV in his wrist, they took the drain out (which he would pull at, cry in pain (because it was embeded in his head), then pull at again. Then cry again. Lather, rinse, repeat), they removed all the chest monitor leads. Still on his toe is a pulse Ox and he has the IV shunt in his foot, though it is currently closed off.
* Zyle is awake, alert, playful, LAUGHING!, and happy. He is waving!
* Zyle has been drinking apple juice and eating graham crackers.
* Zyle still looks like Rocky, with a puffy face and his left eye black and blue.
The doctor came by and said no blood transfusion needed.
Zyle is doing fabulous! I am not counting on it, but when the doc comes by this afternoon, I'm hoping we might actually go home today. Most likely tomorrow, but you never know!
Pam, on the other hand, is not doing so well. 2 days of not enough sleep and constant worry took its toll and finally caught up with her. She is crashed. Lucklily, Pam's friend Jill Pohl was 5 minutes away to spell Seth for about an hour while Pam recovers a bit.
