The roller coaster of waiting

I think when people refer to the roller coaster, it's really about the adrenaline rush.

Up: Pediatrician calls. "You should call neurosurgeon."
Down: Wait until Seth is out of meeting.
Up: Conference call together to call the neurosurgery office.
Down: Can't get in until September. [Come almost to a resting point.]

Up: A medical professional friend says, "Hey, call back; they should get you in faster. Get the pediatrician's office to call them."
Down: Wait until the ped office re-opens after lunch.
Up: Call the ped's office and ask for the doc I spoke with this morning.
Down: Voice mail. Leave message.

Way down: Wait. Wait. Wait.
Stop.

Up: Pediatrician calls. Conferred with her colleagues, and the doctor we are planning to see is worth the wait. She'll talk to the pediatrician we actually saw when she returns on Monday. Then they can decide whether to try to push for a faster appointment based on Zyle's age.

Thus is the roller coaster of my life today.

I appreciate the support:
Yesterday: Seth's mother and my mother.
Today: Talked with NurseyJen, Donna the co-president of parent council who is also a nurse practitioner, supervisor Mariela, my VB friends, my cousin Cathie and one other parent council volunteer online, and our good friend Lalah. At school talked with the room rep for Zyle's room and the director of the school. Emails from my sister and brother and sister-in-law. Spoke in person with Dana the former nanny and Judy our current tenant and sometimes babysitter.
...and later Lisa on chat and more emails from family ... thanks.
